What happens when you merge two independent teams into one? Culture clash.

Teams are getting smaller or even larger all the time. Yet, it does not have to work smoothly. Especially when communication is not transparent from the beginning.

This team worked alone for years. It was a highly specialized group of experienced individuals. They were great but expensive.

So it happens management decided to expand the team. Talented young people were selected to join the team and expand its capabilities.

But it was a total disaster from the beginning. The original team members were afraid of losing their jobs. They refused to teach them and intentionally made them fail.

New team members were frustrated. They tried to make things work out. Unsuccessfully. The original members hated them, and the new members eventually hated them back.

Team meetings were silent. Teamwork did not exist. Management had to make a decision.
