Hi leaders,
Welcome back to the leadership challenge. You explore your mindset, confidence, and business direction. Hop in if you haven’t done so yet.
For nine weeks, you receive a small task to work on.
You get a new task every Sunday until the 31st of March.
Today’s task is about vision & purpose. Because that is something many people struggle with. Without a purpose, you feel lost. Without a vision, your team might not relate to the company. So, let’s do something about it:
Vision & purpose make your work predictable, and you feel happy about what you do and with whom you work. Vision helps you find direction and guidance. It improves motivation and alignment between employees and the company. It can drive innovations, risks, and engagement.
Having your purpose (aka Ikigai) and vision gives you a long-term perspective. Isn’t it great to know where you’re heading to? Others won’t need much more, either. Feed them with a vision.
So, try to create a personal vision, write down your purpose, or put together a vision for your business or team.
Step 1 - Answer:
WHAT do you do?
WHY do you do it?
HOW do you do it?
WHERE do you see it grow (in one year)?
It is as simple as it sounds.
Step 2 - Record a video reading your statement.
How do you see yourself? (I know it’s funny to see yourself talking on the video but skip these weird feelings :-))
Do you feel comfortable reading your vision/personal purpose?
How is your body language?
Are you convincing? Passionate?
Do you feel happy about the sentences?
Video is a catalyst for your presenting skills. Give yourself feedback, and feel free to upload your final version to the Discord. You get support and ideas from others.
Join the Discord community for questions and get additional resources. On Wednesday, I will, for example, share a few examples of good personal purpose statements and business visions for inspiration.
Let’s get your journey moving.
