Hi leaders,
Welcome back to the leadership challenge. You explore your mindset, confidence, and career direction. Hop in if you haven’t done so yet.
For nine weeks, you receive a small task to work on.
You get a new task every Sunday until the 31st of March. (☛head to the previous tasks.)
Today’s task is about prioritization & priorities. Because there are always so many! Everyone seems to struggle with the right priorities these days. What should you be doing?
It is exhausting to try to do everything from your list and have a clean slate. I am not even talking about having 0 emails in your inbox. That’s a big piece of work to do.
So, your today’s task will help you to prioritize:
There is a solution to be more focused and less stressed.
It’s called NOT-TO-DO LIST.
Yes, you hear me. Leaders don’t have to do everything. Work it out by:
Write down/or go through your to-do list and calendar (too many red tasks?)
Decide what you will get rid of because it is not urgent, not important, and not efficient to do by yourself.
What you can, delegate. What you can’t, communicate that you won’t do it, or set expectations about when you can start it.
The not-to-do list is a great exercise for assertiveness.
You will be surprised how smooth it can be if you communicate generously. Don’t let that one email hang in your inbox. Communicate that you won’t do it instead of being silent.
Join the Discord community for questions and get additional resources. On Wednesday, I will drop a few prioritization tools in the challenge thread.
Let’s get your journey moving.
